[The Inman Steam-ship City of New York]
The Illustrated London News, vol. 44, no. 1251, p. 315.April 2, 1864
The Inman steam-ship City of New York, from New York, on the 19th ult., struck on Daunt's Rock on entering Queenstown Harbour on Tuesday morning. She is likely to become a total wreck, the rock having penetrated her bottom under the starboard bunker opposite the mainmast. The passengers, specie, mails, and much of the cargo have been saved.
